With a big win (104-91) over the Celtics at Fiserv Forum the Bucks ended their 4-game losing streak in NBA.
The “deer”, however, could not enjoy this specific victory, since Giannis Antetokounmpo left with a problem in his left calf during the third period in the game, where there was a unique event, as only two shots (by Giannis Antetokounmpo) were made, the fewest in NBA history since 1982!
Concerning the injury of the Greek star, Doc Rivers said he will undergo an MRI on his calf and Achilles tendon. “Our concern is huge. But we are talking about John. I think anyone could have felt that way, but we hope for the best“, said the coach of the Bucks.
Patrick Beverley had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Malik Beasley also got some playing time for the first time this season.
Antetokounmpo had 15 points (7/11 2-pointers, 1/2 shots), 8 rebounds and 7 assists, while he had 1 steal, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers and 1 foul in 28:36. In fact, he made the only shots of the game (1/2) in the first period, with the previous record for shots in a game being 11.
Lopez and Bobby Portis each scored 15 points, while Lillard and Khris Middleton had 12 each. Portis also had 10 rebounds.
The Celtics, who have already secured the best record in the entire NBA and therefore absolute home-court advantage in the playoffs, struggled without Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis, had Jayson Tatum as their leading scorer, Jaylen Brown had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Jrue Holliday had 12 points.
The next match for the Bucks is against the Magic on Wednesday morning.
The twelve minutes: 37-21, 63-43, 78-67, 104-91
