The completion of a century of life of AEK was celebrated with a big, all-day party, at our House, in New Philadelphia.
From early in the afternoon, the friends of our team flooded the streets around the stadium and thousands of young children participated in the activities that were set up around the OPAP ARENA.
At the same time, the people… besieged the stand where the old glories of AEK went to get to know our veteran footballers up close and take pictures with them.
Shortly after 16.00 the doors opened and the party moved inside the stadium, with the philharmonic orchestra of the Municipality of Loutraki giving the signal for the start of the celebration. This was followed by Dimitris Melissanidis’ video message about the club’s jubilee, and immediately after, Matias Almeida and the entire AEK team symbolically blew out the candles on the 100-year cake.
In the center of the field, AEK’s 100-year-old hot air balloon dominated, which made its first symbolic flight, trapped due to the strong winds, which was combined with the aerial dance of the acrobat Fiona. The celebration ended with the release of 21 bouquets of yellow and black balloons into the Attic sky.
