The Spanish LaLiga recorded total revenue 5.69 billion euros for the 2022-23 season, showing an increase of 17.8% compared to the previous season and surpassing the 5.07 billion made in 2019-20, LaLiga announced today (15/4).

The increase was driven by record commercial revenue (+28.6%), as well as an increase in match revenue (+36.9%) thanks to record stadium attendances, as clubs recover from the impact of the Covid pandemic -19 for the second season in a row. THE LaLiga broke the limit of 15 million viewers for the first time in the history of Spanish football, with an average occupancy rate of 72% in the 2022-23 season.

The restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic have affected ticket sales and player movements 2020-21leading to the Spanish league’s first loss since 2012. Transfer revenue increased slightly in 679 million euros from 402 million a year ago, but still well below 1.12 billion in 2019-20.

A record investment was also recorded 848 million euros in infrastructure, including its investment Real Madrid for the renovation of the iconic “Santiago Bernabeu” stadium and the surrounding area.
