Statements regarding his coaching future were made on the English website of “Sun” by Gustavo Poget.

The Uruguayan technician responded to the reports that describe him as a favorite to take over its technical leadership national Irishemphasizing that this is something that is not going to happen, while he talked about her National us, stating that his contract is up.

“There’s nothing, it’s not going to happen. So no real comments. I’ll compare it to something similar. I remember last November or December so many people from England were contacting me asking if I was going to Plymouth. Because the websites put my name at the top of the favorites. I don’t know how many managers had practically completed a deal with the Republic of Ireland already. Apart from me, it was Roy Keane, Solskjaer, Paul Clement, John O’Shea. They had all found them. In the end, no one went. So this is what happens with betting sites. We have to be honest, there is no chance”the Uruguayan coach initially said, while he then referred to the possibility of renewing his contract with our national team, stressing:

“There’s just nothing right now. There is nothing, I completed my contract last month and that’s it, nothing else. So right now I’m free to meet people, analyze football, keep learning. Waiting. Always talking about various possibilities. Not deals, odds. But with Greece at the moment there is absolutely nothing”.
