Ibora: “We will continue to work and improve to fulfill the dream”

Regarding the Sunday (21/4, 20:30) derby between Olympiakos and PAOK for the 6th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League playoffs, the Vithene Ibora!

The Spanish midfielder spoke about his team’s huge qualification to the semi-finals of the Conference League, stressing that he and his teammates are working to fulfill the dream, while making it clear that they will give everything to reverse the situation against them in the Greek league!

In detail what the experienced Olympiakos midfielder said:



On the fact that he is once again in the semifinals of a European competition: “I’m very happy and I don’t feel that way because I’ve been through it before. I am happy because we did it at Olympiakos. We have accomplished something very big. Our goals are very high and it’s fantastic to see the whole team and so many people so happy. We will continue to work and improve so that the dream continues to be fulfilled”.



For the matches with Aston Villa: “Football has taught me that anything can happen. You can achieve anything as long as you work and try. And that’s what we do. We work, we try and we have shown that we have a team that is really capable of great things. When you keep trying and never give up then you can go very far. We now have two semi-finals ahead of us against a team whose coaches know all too well from such games. I know it will be very difficult but in football anything can happen if you keep trying”.

About his presence in the match with Fenerbahce: “I followed the coach’s instructions and did what he asked on the field. The goal was to help the team as much as I could to gain control of the game. I think we all achieved this together. We withstood the pressure put on us by the opponent and it was very difficult at that moment but we had to endure. We succeeded and created some chances to score. We didn’t succeed, but fortunately we qualified on penalties where Tzolakis did an amazing job. We qualified thanks to everyone’s work and not because I entered the match”.

For the match with PAOK: “That’s what the big teams have. This is what the big teams have to deal with. We must at this moment very quickly change the chip and focus on the Greek league. It is a very important goal for us. A few weeks ago we were 8 points behind the first and now if we win on Sunday we will go to -1. In our stadium, with our fans, we can do it. I personally came to Olympiakos to become a champion. The championship is something I am very interested in. It is a goal that we must pursue and for this we must all make a great effort together and take advantage of the opportunity we have to reduce the difference even more”.
