Ter Stegen: “Shame that there is no line technology in LaLiga – Refereeing played a role”

by

He was furious with the referee after the Barcelona defeat in the clasico The Marc Andre Ter Stegen. The German goalkeeper finds it inconceivable that a league like LaLiga does not have line technology to clarify the phase of Lamine Yamal’s effort, where the ball appeared to cross the entire line but the goal was not awarded.

It’s a shame they can’t find a shooting angle to consider the goal phase. We live in a world with so much money and I can’t understand why they haven’t given a sum to bring the line technology that exists in other leagues“, Ter Stegen pointed out, while regarding Real’s penalty which resulted in a 1-1 draw, he commented that “… I believe Lucas Vasquez sought it out and earned it smartly».

However, he did not fail to make self-criticism, on behalf of the whole team. “We had everything on our side, but we couldn’t get the three points. We have to look at ourselves, defensively we were not up to the occasion, although the referee played a role in shaping the result. We didn’t have the patience with the score in our favor to control the game and in general we weren’t as competitive as we would have liked at several points in the season which resulted in us dropping a lot of points. Of course we can talk about the refereeing, but at several times we have let ourselves down“, concluded.
