After the Final of the developmental tournaments, the young sportsmen and women remain in the table tennis arena for the next event of the E.F.O.E.P.A.
The 2023-2024 Panhellenic youth championship will be held in the Municipal Sports Center of Kalamaria during the four-day period from Saturday the 27th of Lazaros to Tuesday the 30th of April. It concerns boys and girls up to 19 years of age and includes all team and individual events. The Local Committee of Northern Greece of the federation is on the… foot for the second Panhellenic championship in this particular age category, which Thessaloniki will take over in a few years. The previous one was in the period 2020-2021 at the indoor gym of Mikras. T.E. she is in the last part of her preparation and aspires to present an overall very good image by promoting the Olympic sport as well.
A total of 23 teams will take part in the championship. Fourteen in teenagers and 9 in young women. A total of 80 sportsmen and women, who are in the final declarations for the individual events of singles, doubles and mixed. They come from 26 clubs across the country. In addition to Thessaloniki, unions from Athens, Patras, Alexandroupoli, Kastoria, Kavala, Florina, Orestiada, Chania and Rethymno will have representatives.
The declarations in the individual events are divided into 48 teenagers and 32 teenagers in the singles (exactly at the maximum number of participations), 23 and 15 pairs respectively in the doubles of the same categories and 30 twins in the mixed doubles. The gym in Kalamaria was granted by the municipality of the city and in the coming days it will be announced what hours it will be available for training on Friday 26/04.
* One more participation in an international tournament in the meantime, had the employee at the offices of T.E. Northern Greece Maria Tsipou, who is also in the organization of the Panhellenic championship. He worked as Competition Manager of the international federation (ITTF) at the Al-Watani Para Championships, which took place from Saturday 20 to Monday 22/04 in Amman. There was no Greek presence at the tables in this handicap tournament.
