The details at the end cost the Pigeon bwin and in his short final Final Four of Basketball Champions Leagueresulting in defeat 87-84.

His team Vasilis Spanoulis he came back from -16 (39-55) and stayed in the match until the last seconds, but did not find the solutions for the total upset.

The match

The game had a good pace early on, with Peristeri bwin maintaining the lead (14-12), until the 5th minute. With back-to-back three-pointers, Murcia went ahead and initially reached +4 (14-18) and with Copain +6 (18-24), in the 8th minute. In the final minutes, Spanoulis’ team made a reaction, but only came close to -4 (23-24), at the end of the first period.

The Spaniards were in control in the second quarter as well, with Radovic and Enis sending them to +11 (27-38), at 15′. The reaction of the bwin Dove was a basket by Mitrou-Long, with Murcia responding with a 6-0 run and shooting the difference to +15 (29-44), at 18′. In the last two minutes, Spanoulis’ players tightened up defensively with Ragland leading the way and closed the first half with a 6-0 run (35-44).

At the beginning of the second half, Peristeri bwin reduced further with a basket by Thompson (37-44), however Murcia’s response was stormy and with individual scores of 2-11, sent the difference to +16 (39-55), in 24′. From that point on, Spanoulis’ players increased their pressure on defense and, with versatility in attack, dropped the difference to a single digit value (55-63), at the end of the third period.

Spanoulis’ players entered the fourth quarter very focused, as a result of which they came even closer (66-70), at 34′. Copain gave “breathing” to Murtia (66-73), but with Poulianitis in front, Peristeri bwin lost to the basket (75-77), in the 37th minute. The Spaniards went on a 6-0 run, for +8 (75-83), with the Peristerians reducing to three points (82-85), in the 39th minute. With 15 minutes to go, Hugaz accepted, with Hakanson going 2/2 from the line and Renfro making it 84-87.
