Actress Samara Felippo spoke on her Instagram account this Sunday (28) to thank her followers for their support regarding the case of racism that her 14-year-old daughter suffered at Vera Cruz school, one of the most traditional in São Paulo.
Samara thanked her for the kindness, but reminded some people that there is no such thing as reverse racism, as figures even commented on the subject on her personal page.
“Let it be very clear to those who come to support. I deeply appreciate the affection. But white children/adolescents do not suffer racism! They can, yes, be excluded, suffer bullying, among other types of violence, but there is no reverse racism”, he wrote.
According to Samara and the school, two 9th grade elementary school students took a notebook belonging to Samara’s daughter, who is black, and ripped out the pages.
Soon after, the two students wrote a racial slur on one of the pages. Afterwards, the notebook was returned to the lost and found.
“All the pages of an elaborate, elaborate, grade-worthy research paper written by her were violently torn out and inside the notebook there was the phrase. The notebook is now in my hands and a new notebook has already been given to my daughter “, reported Samara in a letter to a group of parents at the school, which went viral on social media.
After learning about the case, Samara filed a police report. The actress is awaiting action, and has not yet decided whether to take her daughter out of school.
Wanted by F5, Vera Cruz school did not comment until the last update of this report. However, in a statement to parents obtained by the report, the school says that the young women were suspended.
“Actions were immediately carried out to welcome the student, to communicate with all students in the series, as well as their families. From the first moment, we maintained constant contact with the family of the student victim of this racist aggression, as well as remaining attentive so that she do not become too exposed and become the victim of further aggression”, says the letter.
