Without a winner in the Andalusian derby, Betis and Sevilla settled for a point in “Benito Villamarin”

The big event ended without a winner Andalusian derbyfor the 33rd matchday of La Liga.

Betis and Seville faced off at a packed Benito Villamarin, with the hosts leading in the first half and the visitors leveling for the final 1-1 in the second. Thus, Betis remained in 7th place and +2 from 8th Valencia, while Sevilla remained 13th, far from the places that give a European ticket.

The big local derby started with the hosts missing the first big chance in the 5th minute when Cardoso headed the ball narrowly wide from Isco’s corner, while Ocampos scored for Sevilla in the 24th minute, but the goal disallowed for offside.

In the 35th Fornals came within a breath of a goal for Betis, but saw Sergio Ramos clear the ball just before it crossed the line, while two minutes later (36′) the referee awarded a penalty for a handball by Lukebakio, with Isco to beat Nyland from the penalty spot for 1-0!

Shortly after the start of the second half (49′), o Bakabu missed a huge chance to double the home side’s lead, missing from a very good position, while in the 52nd minute Nyland denied the goal to Agios Perez. Finally, and against the flow of the match, Sevilla equalized after a corner Swing and his strong head Hallwhile in the 58th minute the referee awarded a penalty in favor of Betis, but changed his decision after being asked by VAR to see the replay.

Until the end of the derby, Betis were superior, missing another chance to score in the 80th minute, when Nyland impressively saved an Isco effort, with 1-1 to be the final score at the packed Benito Villamarin.
