Maccabi’s pressure to get 1,000 fans into “Pionir Hall” with Panathinaikos

by

Maccabi and Panathinaikos are preparing for tonight’s third game between them for the playoffs and first of two that will take place during Holy Week in Belgrade.

While the media of Israel consider the almost certain absence of Wade Baldwin from Game 3 (he will undergo an MRI today), it is still uncertain how many people his team will have on its side Odent Katas.

At the moment, the number of spectators allowed in “Hala Pionir” is about 300, however around 1,000 Maccabi friends have traveled to Belgradewith 3-4 flights arriving from Israel since Sunday.

According to the Israeli media, during the day will peak the contacts of Maccabi with the Serbian authorities and the police. They will exercise pressures to raise the attendance limit with the aim of getting everyone who has made the trip to Serbia into the stadium.

It is recalled that a few days ago it was decided to transfer the match from the vast “Stark Arena” (19,000 spectators) to the much smaller “Hala Pionir” (8,000 spectators), so if the presence of around 1,000 Maccabi fans is allowed, the Tel Aviv team will have if nothing else… a decent seat, even if many kilometers away from the hot “Yad Eliau”.
