In the presence of a multitude of basketball people, from its glorious past to its glorious present and future, the Hellenic Basketball Federation presented its agreement with OPAP which will henceforth be the central sponsor of the national teams.
The President of the EEC, Vangelis Lioliosstressed: «I am very happy that a very important collaboration is being launched today. The OPAP organization connects the past, the present and the future to all Greeks. He was the blood donor of Greek sports and with this collaboration he honors Greek sports and Greek basketball. Now we are together and the cooperation concerns the whole spectrum of Greek basketball, with the aim of its development and to enter into the whole society. Every Greek family wants to be embraced by basketball. Our values and principles are identical with those of OPAP and when that happens we are stronger. I hope for the next many years to be together, to go out on the streets again for the national teams, but also to make every child dream about the sport».
The head of Women’s basketball in the EEC, Annie Konstantinidouin turn stated: “We all expect this collaboration to last a long time and be accompanied by success. The EEC will cooperate with OPAP, which will become our new teammate in the national teams. It is a strategic collaboration aimed at the development of the sport. A common goal is the development of basketball with social contribution. There will be a number of social activities and it goes without saying that our desire is to combine this cooperation with new sports distinctions. Greek athletes are among the top in Europe and we want to give them all the guarantees. We are sure that together with OPAP we will experience the new successes of the sport in the country».

Panagiotis Fasoulas, Fanis Christodoulou, Nikos Filippou, Nikos Stavropoulos, Sophocles Schortsanitis, George Sigalas, Dimitris Papanikolaou, George Kalaitzis, Costas Patavoukas, Giannis Kalampokis, Vassilis Souloudos, Nikos Soulou, Nikos , who are members of the EEC administration.
From the Men’s National Team present were the head of the team Nikos Zisis, the federal coach Sotiris Manolopoulos and from the side of the players Dimitris Agravanis, Michalis Lountzis and Panagiotis Kalaitzakis.
The presenter of the event was the legendary Evina Maltsi, while Annie Konstantinidou, Toula Kalentzou and Sofia Kligopoulou were also present. The Women’s National Team was represented by Mandy Anastassopoulou and the small national teams by Lefteris Mantzoukas.
