The international meeting “Dromea” will be held on May 15 at the Municipal Stadium of Vari “Konstantinos Baglatzis” and our high hurdles champions, Kostas Douvalidis and Elisavet Pesiridou, will aim for good performances against accomplished sportsmen and women from abroad.
For Kostas Douvalidis, the “Tracks” will be the first possible test for open athletics. “I expect that the event will be competitive again this year. Haris Papadias and Ariadni Dada, who have inspired the meeting, are doing a very good job and I am sure that strong matches will be held. I will be chasing a good performance under 13.80. “Dromia” will be my first substantial race for this year, but also a race that will help me to stay in contention for qualifying for the European Championship in Rome,” said the Drami champion.
Great athletes from abroad will also be found at the 110m start line. Among them will be Turkey’s record holder Mikdad Sevler, Germany’s champions Manuel Mordi and Tim Eikerman, Egypt’s Yusuf Badaway, Poland’s Krzysztof Kielczan and others. On the Greek side, Giannis Kamarinos and Viktor-Alexandros Peristeris will also compete.
For Elisavet Pesiridou, the “Runs” are a great sporting celebration. “I don’t feel like I’m running a race. I feel like I’m taking part in a sports festival. I enjoy the participation and it shows in the performance. I have learned that the entries are good and I can’t wait to compete. We also have the relay race. I invite the friends of athletics to come to Vari and cheer us on with their presence”, emphasized the champion.
Elisavet Pesiridou will find against her athletes with international distinctions and participations, such as Nouralota Neziri and Lota Harala from Finland, Nika Gloznarik from Slovenia and others.
