Two goals separate you, do you have faith in the turnaround?

“The year has been excellent, we have played well, we have faith and confidence that we can play well and go to the final.”

Did Olympiacos surprise you in the first match? You probably have a bigger motivation with the missed penalty…

“Olympiacos did not surprise us, we had analyzed and established how good a team they are. They won and they deserved it. But now there are still ninety minutes and we really believe we can go through. It is a very important match for us because we want to bring the team to a final. I am responsible for penalties, if necessary I will execute again. The only one who can score and lose penalties is the one who executes them.”

For the atmosphere he will encounter: “When you enter the field you are focused on it. Atmosphere enhances motivation. I am from Brazil where there is a fanatical and warm atmosphere just like in Greece. I have spoken to Rodney, he has told me many good things about the team and the country, he is a very good friend of mine.”

On himself and injuries: “Fortunately, I don’t have such issues, perhaps due to my body structure. We had problems this year with the many matches, but now everyone will be ready for such a big game. I am grateful to Aston Villa for the opportunity they have given me, I will do everything in this match to help them reach the final.”
