Traffic arrangements on May 29 for the Conference Final at OPAP Arena – Schools and grove closed

Traffic regulations and measures will apply in Athens on May 29 for the final European Conference League between the Olympic and Fiorentina in OPAP Arena.

On Wednesday (15/05) EPO announced some of the first traffic regulations that will apply in New Philadelphia and not only, as well as some measures that will come into force.

Specifically, some of them are that the schools will be closed on 05/29, while the grove will also remain closed for three days, specifically from May 28 to May 30.

In detail, the EPO announcement:

A series of traffic regulations will be in place on 29 May in Athens due to the UEFA Europa Conference League final. The changes will concern traffic regulations mainly in the area of ​​New Philadelphia.

In particular, on the day of the final, Wednesday 29 May, the following will apply.

• Strict regulations in a radius of 1 kilometer around the field of the final. The measures will include a ban on parking and access to the site, with exceptions for those in need of assistance, vulnerable groups, people with disabilities and permanent residents.

• Kappadokias Street will remain closed, as well as Pindou Street which provides access from the national road to Dekelias Avenue, part of which will also remain closed.

• Traffic arrangements will also be made in the municipal unit of Chalkidona and in the municipalities of Nea Ionia, Metamorfosi and Galatsi.

• In addition to the area around the stadium, traffic arrangements will also be made on the National Highway (Kifissos), which on May 29 will be closed from the height of Acharnon Street to Metamorfosi, while the Vryoulon bridge will also remain closed on May 29 .

• Traffic arrangements will be made on Attiki Odos in both directions.

• Traffic measures will apply throughout Athens on May 29 (some measures will also apply on May 28).

• There will be traffic control zones around the stadium, through which only accredited vehicles and people will enter. The following map shows the control zones as well as the roads that will remain closed.

• Apart from the accredited vehicles, no other vehicles will have access to the stadium and will not be able to approach the roads marked in red on the map (the general plan which will be detailed in the coming days). Therefore, the approach should be made by means of public transport and taxis, which will have specific drop-off and pick-up points, as shown in the following maps.





• Schools will be closed in New Philadelphia on May 29.

• Alsos Neas Philadelphias will remain closed to the public on May 28, 29 and 30.

• Changes will be made on May 29 to the schedules of line 1 of the Electric Railway, which will be announced soon.

Supplying the shops in New Philadelphia

The traffic arrangements that will be made on the day of the final, Wednesday 29 May, are expected to cause problems in the supply of shops located in the prohibition area. This, because apart from the accredited vehicles, no other vehicle will have access to the stadium and will not be able to approach the red colored roads that will remain closed. Therefore, it is suggested that the supply of the shops located on the streets that will remain closed be done before Wednesday 29 May at 06:00 in the morning.
