The Red Star with 73-67 against Villeurbanne emerged as a big winner in one of the most interesting matches of the 9th game of the Euroleague. The Serbs, with the “air” and the confidence from its dominance over Panathinaikos, managed to celebrate in the end, although they encountered several difficulties against the French.

This was the second victory in a row for the Red Star, which now has a record of 4-5, breaking the winning streak of three games for the French (6-3).

Kalinic was the top scorer, with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, with Ivanovic having 14 points and 5 assists. On the other hand for Villeurbanne, Okobo had 16 points and 3 rebounds, Jones had 14 points. Villeurbanne took the lead at the beginning of the next season with a three-pointer by Okobo, but Kalinic with five points again brought the Serbs in front of the score. A series of 10-0 followed, which gave the hosts a lead of 9 points. In the last period, the Red Star increased its performance even more, found other easy points, managing to maintain the lead it had and to reach -finally- the victory.
