Brazil recorded 243 deaths by Covid and 15,144 cases of the disease, this Thursday (11). With that, the country reached 610,323 lost lives and 21,926,526 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths remains falling. There are now 230 deaths a day, a 30% reduction from the figure two weeks ago.

The average of cases remained stable, that is, without variations above 15%. It now stands at 11,421 infections a day.

Country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.

Covid-19 vaccination data, also collected by the consortium, were updated in 24 states and the Federal District.

Brazil registered 1,485,500 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, this Thursday. According to data from the state departments of Health, there were 228,513 first doses and 917,622 second. 3,242 single doses and 336,123 booster doses were also recorded.

Santa Catarina, on Wednesday, had presented a major revision in the numbers of applied vaccines. According to the state health department, “there was a problem in the national database of the Ministry of Health” and “some doses of routine vaccines were being counted together with Covid vaccines”.

ParanĂ¡ did not update vaccine data due to “instability in the system”.

Finally, Rio de Janeiro is, for the third day, with problems in the registration of single doses.

In all, 156,632,260 people have received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil — 118,796,814 of them have already received the second dose of the immunizing agent. Added to the single doses of the Janssen vaccine against Covid, there are already 123,407,869 people with a complete vaccination schedule in the country.

Thus, the country already has 73.43% of the population with the 1st dose and 57.85% of Brazilians with a complete vaccination schedule. Considering only the adult population, the values are, respectively, 96.63% and 76.13%.

Even those who completed the vaccination schedule with two doses must maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distance, experts say.

The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
