Fal: “I don’t believe in luck, we play good basketball and we have our chance”

In a few days from now, Mr Olympic will be present for the third consecutive year in the Final 4 of the Euroleague, aiming to win the 4th trophy in its history.

At the media day of the “Red Whites”, o Mustafa Fal commented on what he expects from the great Berlin event, talked about his team’s hopes and referred to the quality of Real and her tall twin.

On whether they dream about the final: “We are not dreaming. We’re going to go out there and fight for the win. We hope we will win. It’s a game. We will fight as much as possible. It’s a game, we have to win, we have to be successful. Let’s fight for all the balls that are 50-50, get the rebounds and play our game.”

For the meeting with Real and Poirier and Tavares: “We have to be ready. We are ready. We have no choice anyway. We will be competitive and these match-ups will be very good. I hope we will win.”

On whether they want revenge for last year’s lost final: “No. What we will try to do is win one more game. So it won’t be revenge. We are focused to win, we cannot think about the past. We focus on what we have to do on the court.”

On the similarities between last year’s Real and this year’s team: “They are again a very good team, they have players who speak in the big moments. In any case, it was a very good team, but now it has covered everything it may have lacked. So this year it will be an even tougher battle. But we also play good basketball and we have our chance”.

On whether Olympiacos needs more luck: “I don’t believe in luck and all that. Being in the Final Four showed that we had character. We fought with injuries, with absences of players and yet we found the solutions and we are still here. I hope that we will enter the court and find the solutions again, at all costs, as we have done all season.”
