Angry announcement by Panathinaikos AO about the air-fryer advertisement and an out-of-court lawsuit against the company: “They promote violence”!

by

The announcement in detail:

The Panathinaikos Athletic Club expresses its strong displeasure at the advertisement of a well-known company that clearly promotes violence.

Showing Benrubi’s Izzy air-fryer spot, which shows two characters with their backs turned talking, punching each other, and expressing themselves through fan slang in order to attract people, puts its own the stepping stone to the escalation of acts of violence.

It is shameful that in the year 2024 the way to attract customers for a product is done in this way in public view, at a time when we official institutions are fighting to fight violence.

The “cunning” of the advertiser (and of all those who went through this extreme) is on multiple levels, beyond the tragedy of the whole concept.

So the…creator of this wretchedness diligently makes sure that one guy (the red and white) is labeled with a nickname that is tolerated and used even by media that are close to the group that the ad implies, without of course showing the team’s logo.

On the contrary, the green figure refers to a characterization that the fans of all teams throw at their opponents, wanting to clearly refer to acts of violence, in the sense that they are the … losers of the case.

In addition, the specific form takes on a Panathenaic character and the team’s emblem is clearly visible.

Therefore, the Panathinaikos Athletic Club will send an extrajudicial letter to the company for insulting the emblem and for inciting violence and requests that this advertisement be withdrawn.

Otherwise, the Association will take all necessary legal actions.
