Katerina Sotiriou is the new general manager of Athenaikos. The former captain of the National team and of Panathinaikos was released from the “greens” a few days ago, decided to withdraw from the active action and accepted the proposal of the Byron team to take over the specific position, as announced on Thursday by the club itself.
In detail, the announcement:
“The management of the Athenian women’s team announces the start of its cooperation with Katerina Sotiriou in the position of technical director.
Katerina will not just be our new technical director for the next few years. It is the history of our team, it is the “connecting link” of a glorious past and a new challenge – an invitation to a new similar path in the immediate future.
It is a beginning, but also a continuation, it is a legacy, but also a bet, it is the imprint of our new effort, of this new journey to the many beautiful Greek and European ports that our history deserves”.
For her part, the European Cup winner in 2011 said: “I sincerely thank the Athenian team for the opportunity it offers me to start a new professional path in a different capacity, that of technical director. Your trust in the person and the vision to create something great fills me with enthusiasm and determination.”
