He handled the pole position perfectly and Leclerc celebrated inside his home

by

He took full advantage of the pole position and celebrated the victory at… home Monaco Grand Prix The Charles Leclerc.

On a track where overtaking is traditionally rare, its pilot Ferrari he was unerring and saw the checkered flag first, leaving his McLaren behind Oscar Piastri! On the podium also went up Carlos Sainz for Ferrari’s 1-3, while fourth finished o Lando Norris. The leader in the overall score of the pilots was satisfied with the sixth place, Max Verstappenwho was stuck throughout the race between the Mercedes of Russell and Hamilton.

The start of the race was uneventful, with Leclerc maintaining the lead despite Piastri’s intense pressure at the start, but Saind having to exit in the first corners, after contact with the McLaren pilot. At the same time and a few meters further back, Magnussen, in an unexplained action, tried to overtake Perez without having the necessary space, creating an accident that completely destroyed the Mexican’s Red Bull. In addition, the Dane’s action also paid for Hulkenberg, who was also involved in the collision and was also ruled out. In addition, the Alpines of Gasly and Ocon both made contact, with the latter forced to retire, while Sainz managed to continue.

After a 40-minute delay, the race restarted with the cars starting from a standstill, this time with no problems. Leclerc held on to first place, stuck behind Piastri and Saint, while the top four, completed by Norris, got away from the rest.

With overtaking being… ignored, as is traditionally the case in the Principality, Leclerc continued to control the race keeping Piastri behind him, while Verstappen remained stuck in 6th place between the Mercedes of Russell and Hamilton, who with his series maintained a very wide gap from 8th Tsunoda.

On lap 54, Verstappen pitted to change from his medium to the hard tyre, improving his pace and steadily closing the gap on 5th place Russell, but was ultimately unable to pass him, finishing sixth.

Nothing changed until the finale, with Leclerc managing his lead brilliantly to celebrate just Ferrari’s third victory in Monaco since 2000, while Piastri and Saint also took the podium. Norris, Russell, Verstappen, Hamilton, Tsunoda, Albon and Gasly completed the top ten.

The next race will be the 9th of this year’s Formula 1 season and will be held next week (June 7-9) at Canada.
