EEC: The deadline for expressions of interest for the wild cards is until June 4

THE EEC issued a notice through which it invites all teams that wish to participate in the competitions ahead of the 2024/25 season through the granting of a special license (wild card), to proceed with the expression of interest until June 4th.

The announcement in detail:

Considering the Special Licensing Regulation of the EEC (which was drawn up in accordance with the Law and voted by the regular General Assembly of the Hellenic Basketball Federation on March 27, 2024 and regarding any vacancies arising in the Elite League, National League 1, National League 2, in the A1 National Women’s Division and in the A2 National Women’s Division, the Hellenic Basketball Federation invites all its member clubs that wish to participate in its events through the wild card granting process, to express their interest for the category in which they wish to compete (submitting an application for granting a special license/wild card) during the 2024-2025 competition season until 4/6/2024.

The purpose of the above wild card procedure is to exceptionally grant the right to participate in the EEC Championship in the event that, after the validation of the 2023-2024 season standings, a team a) does not submit or does not submit by the deadline the required supporting documents for participation of the 2024-2025 season Championship, b) does not meet the requirements of the Regulations and the decisions of the Board of Directors of the E.O.K. defined, each time, conditions for participation, c) refuses to participate in the organization in which it has acquired the right to participate, in order to ensure the provision of competitive opportunities to teams, which provide financial and competitive guarantees of equal and competitive participation in the Championships of EEC competence and development and spreading the sport of basketball.
