Komiso: “Great disappointment from the lost Conference final”

The biggest thanks goes to our fans, who have always followed us and never let us lack their support, for whom I will always be grateful and who in these last days suffered, like all of us, the great disappointment of losing the final of Conference League.

As I have always said and shown, for me and my family the fans are first and foremost. I’m sorry I didn’t remember it at the end of the match, but, as I did the same day in Athens, going to greet the viola fans who were present first in the Fan Zone, not interested in monuments or anything else, and then in the Stadium under our curve, they must always know that my affection and closeness have not changed. Indeed, as I said after the death of Joe Barone, I feel even more united and close to Florence and Fiorentina.

I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Italiano and his staff. In these three years they did a wonderful job, they gave everything, every day, for the good of Fiorentina, they gave an incredible competitive identity to the team, recognized by everyone, in Italy and in Europe. I wish the gentleman and all his associates the best for their future because they really deserve a lot of satisfaction.

The disappointment of this defeat is still huge, I understand the sadness of those who were in Greece, as well as those who watched the match from the Franki Stadium, from Viola Park or in front of their TV and their pain is mine, all of us .

I am the first to be disappointed about the league position as well, but our desire is to work even harder to grow and improve.

I regret and apologize for the January transfer window, I too expected and hoped for something more to help the team, but not all the conditions were there, or we were not that good at finding them, to be able to achieve it. Everything we did we thought was useful for the betterment of the team.

The Company continues to move forward, we cannot allow ourselves to be carried away by the frustration of the moment, but we must turn anger into unity and strength, this strength that has allowed me, throughout my life, to grow in all companies I have worked for, including the current Mediacom and in five years here in Fiorentina, to achieve various goals.

It is at least strange to see that when there are difficult times, and in football as in life there are and always will be, one tries to imagine or perhaps hope for a sale of the club or an escape from Florence, perhaps for multiple personal benefits, but let’s let’s not give up. We are here! My wife, I and my family are happy we chose and discovered Florence and Fiorentina. As soon as we can we come to this city and spend our time at Viola Park, on the field and in the city with our fans.

We have no intention of selling, I think I’ve said that many times. We have a desire to move forward and always do better.

I remind everyone that I took Fiorentina after they were saved from Serie B on the last day and, in five years, we reached two conference finals, a Coppa Italia final, we qualified three times in a row in Europe, the Viola Park was built that will remain forever asset of the Club and of Florence.

In the first days after my arrival I said that I wanted to bring Fiorentina back to what the city of Florence and Viola fans deserve, we are one step away from the so-called big-6 and we brought Fiorentina back permanently to Europe.

I said that Fiorentina would never be in danger of bankruptcy and thanks to the continuous important investments and with great attention to the financial rules that exist in football and financial Fair Play, even if some prominent teams continue to disrespect them, they take us as an example no only in Italy but also in Europe as a model company.

These results do not arrive by chance, they have been achieved through planning, programming, selection of people and, of course, also through mistakes.
