Serelis: “We didn’t play the basketball we’re used to, defensively we weren’t the ones we should have been”

by

In his defensive problem Panathinaikos AKTOR stood the Christos Serelis in his statements after the defeat of the “clover” by Olympiakos in the first final at OAKA.

Ergin Ataman’s direct partner (sent off two minutes before the final) stood at 46 points that the “greens” accepted in the first half, stressing that now Panathinaikos must get a victory in the SEF.

In detail, what Christos Serelis mentioned:

Defensively we were not what we should have been, we conceded 46 points in the first half. We didn’t play the defense we play all year, we conceded a lot of points to our racket, Olympiacos gained confidence and controlled the match, we didn’t get ahead of the score and we didn’t play the basketball we are used to».

For the dismissal of the Ataman:In the match there can be tensions, voices, the coach and we from the bench thought that some phases might have been in our favor. We have to look at what we have to fix for the SEF match and we now have to get a game at the home of the opponent».

For what to fix:Clearly the defense was not right, we have to be tougher, more dynamic in the contacts, not to let Olympiakos freely play the game they want».
