A radical proposal was tabled by the General Manager of Zalgiris, Paulius Motegiounasin the extraordinary teleconference of the Euroleague teams.
Specifically and as reported by the journalist Donatas Urbonas, the GM of the Lithuanians suggested to the other clubs to boycott and not to play in the confrontations with the Russians.
His request, however, fell on deaf ears since it was not accepted by any of the other groups.
Note that the next conference of Euroleague clubs is scheduled for Monday (28/2) and by then the Russian teams should have submitted the “relocation” plan.
Zalgiris GM Paulius Motiejunas suggested boycotting the rest of the games against Russian teams.
I was told that he did not receive any support from other EuroLeague clubs in the meeting.
