“Goodbye” to PAOK with a charged statement said o Makis Gagatsis.
As you read earlierthe fact that no other candidacy was filed for its election EPO sealed from today that the stem of the “two-headed of the north” will be o next president of the federation.
So in view of her departure from the club, he said characteristically:
“My presence at PAE PAOK has come to an end and I am overcome with great melancholy.
I have passed the years of an almost complete adulthood, 16 whole years since I accepted the proposal of Thodoris Zagorakis to take over the management of the offices.
And really from that day I matured as an executive, as a PAOK member, as a colleague and as a human being.
The arrival of Ivan Savvidis not only changed the entire history of Greek football, but mine as well.
I am grateful to him for recognizing in me the desire and the strength to fight alongside him for a PAOK champion, but also for a non-committal, independent, fair Greek football.
I am grateful to him for the responsibilities he entrusted to me, for his patience and persistence to achieve what we aimed for.
The titles that came were incidental to the strengthening of PAOK, it was not the end in itself and will never be for the club that represents the refugee and the lost homelands.
I really want to thank all the unsung heroes of the offices, the employees, the members of the administrations, all the people we have worked with over the years.
My faith belongs to them, that PAOK PAOK will continue to operate in the way that brought it to the top and stay there.
A big thank you to the organized and non-sports fans of PAOK who supported us, forgave us, praised us or criticized us with respect and appreciation.
Above all I thank my family, my father, my beloved mother whom I miss so much and owe her everything, my sisters, my daughter and my son who do not enjoy me as much as I would like and my husband for what he has been through, for the support he has given me since our student years and continues to do so.
I apologize to anyone I unintentionally wronged and hurt, all my decisions had the interest of PAOK as a common goal.
From the new meter, I will work overall for the development of Greek football, having PAOK in my heart, and knowing that all it needs to flourish is a framework of justice and equality.
It has been an honor to serve this great club and my love for it since the first day I stepped through the door at the age of 8 will never fade.
Thank you and see you again.”
