by

He submitted the No.1 in the world ranking and qualified for the first time in his career to Carlos Alcarat final of Roland Garros!

The prodigy of world tennis prevailed 3-2 sets (2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3) by Yannick Sinner in the first semi-final of the French Open at “Philippe-Chatrier” after 4 hours and 12 minutes, thus booking a place in the grand final on Sunday (06/09, 16:00), where he will claim the third Grand Slam of his career, after those at the USA Open (2022) and Wimbledon (2023)!

Despite having his back against the… wall twice, in the first and third sets, the 21-year-old Spanish tennis player ranked No.3 in the world managed to turn the situation around, celebrating his sixth victory in ten meetings with the Italian!

Alkarath now waits to find out their opponent in the grand final in Paris, which will come from the winner of the other semi-final between Kasper Ruud (No.7) and Alexander Zverev (No.4).

The match:

With speed gained from his impressive victory over Dimitrov, he entered the game Yannick Siner, absolutely dominating the “Philippe-Chatrier” court. The Italian tennis player started with two breaks on Carlos Alcarath’s serveand combined with the love game on his own serve, he found himself ahead of early with 4-0! The Spaniard fought back, initially going 4-1 down before he too broke his opponent’s serve for 4-2. However, the No.1 in the world ranking took advantage of Alkarath’s mistakes and combined with the nice winners he found, he “broke” his opponent’s serve for the third time (5-3), reaching the conquest of first set with an impressive 6-2 after 42 minutes of competition!

In fact, the 22-year-old Italian continued strongly at the beginning of the second set, when with… good morning he reached another service break, making it 2-0 a little later! And where everything seemed to be in complete control of the match, having gained the momentum, the 21-year-old Spaniard “burst out”, raising his performance dramatically! Unfolding his talent and power on the clay court and finding points from winners, but also close to the net, Alkarath ran a impressive 5-0 game streak (with 2 breaks) for the full reset! Somehow, this is how the world tennis prodigy leveled the match at 1-1, winning the second set 6-3.

By Yannick Siner to struggle greatly in his first two games of his own in the third set and especially in his effectiveness in the first serve, Carlos Alcarath took advantage of this condition and the mistakes of the opponent and with amazing points he succeeded and made the break for the favor of 2-1. The Italian’s response was immediate, as, in the next game, he “erased” the Spaniard’s lead, equalizing at 2-2. However, Siner’s effortless errors on his serve continued, which resulted in Alcarath fighting for the break in the fifth game, which finally after 5 advantages (!) ended up going to the Italian!

A development that seemed to change the balance of the set, with Shiner now playing with confidence, winning the next two sets for 5-2. All Alkarath managed was to temporarily cut it to 5-3 before his 23-year-old opponent take the set 6-3 and the lead 2-1.

Much more closed and careful for both tennis players was the fourth set, but this does not mean that there was no spectacle and amazing points from both sides. It is noteworthy that despite all the efforts of the two “soldiers”, none of the sets led to an advantage, with Carlos Alcarath thus reaching 5-4, before making the break and conquering the set 6-4tying the match at 2-2!

With high spirits and being the one to open the fifth set with his own service game, Alkarath entered the match very energetic and focused, breaking early and taking a three game lead (3-0) shortly after! With some difficulty, Shiner broke to 3-1 on his serve, before the Spaniard responded with a love game for 4-1. With the water in the… groove, Alkarath completed a terrible reversal, taking the win and the fifth set 6-3!
