Maria Nomikou will compete in Panionio next season. The “blue and red” announced the signing of the 31-year-old international cross/winger for next year, in order to help the women’s volleyball team with her experience in Greece and abroad in the effort for the best possible course in their first participation in the big “lounges” .

“The management committee of the Panioni women’s volleyball team announces the start of its collaboration with Maria Nomikou.
The 31-year-old diagonal/winger (1.90 m.) has won two championships, as many Greek cups, but also a Challenge Cup. He has worn the shirt of Iraklis Kifisias, Panathinaikos, Olympiakos, AEK, Apollonios and Amazonos, while he competed successfully for five years in the Italian league, wearing the shirt of Asistel, Villa Cortese, Victoria Monza, Trentino Rosa and Volley Montovi.
After the agreement was formalized, Maria said: “I am happy, as my return after several years in A1 was combined with the trust shown in me and the project presented to me by the managers of the Panioni team. Due to my special family situation, despite the good and full season I had, my thought was to stop.
Panionio’s approach to all the pieces concerning an athlete, with the particularities of a mother, prevailed. On my part, I will help with all my strength and experience so that the team can star in A1 because strong, reliable clubs and people with vision are needed to create the conditions for a strong team to exist in a better and more competitive league.”
