Tsitsipas struggled but qualified via tie-break to the second round of the Halle Open

He struggled but started the Halle Open with a win Stefanos Tsitsipas!

In his first game on grass for this season, the top Greek tennis player presented himself ready and although he found against him a very combative Henry Squire (Number 181 in the world ranking), took the win with 2-0 sets (7-6, 7-6) and celebrated qualifying for the 2nd round of the tournament, where he will face the winner of the pair Darderi-Struff.

The match started with the two opponents protecting their serves, going hand in hand to the score and with Tsitsipas not taking advantage of the break point he had in favor of 4-3. Finally, the set went to a tie-break, where Tsitsipas prevailed 9-7making it 1-0.

The image of the match did not change even in the second set, with both players not managing to break their opponent’s serve and with the winner being judged again in the tie-break. There Stefanos broke for 1-0 and took a 3-0 lead, with Germanos reducing it to 3-2 and with Tsitsipas winning four consecutive points, making it 7-2 and taking the victory.
