Spanoulis: “We will be ready when we have to – Slukas’ absence is too long”

by

Statements immediately after the end of the friendly match between our national team and Poland in SEF, made by Vassilis Spanoulis.

The federal coach was outstanding defense played by his players (with the exception of the first quarter), stating that this is the team’s greatest strength and expressed confidence that the team will be ready when it needs to be, while calling his absence too long Kostas Sloukas.

In detail what he said:

“Excluding the first quarter, we played excellent defense. This is our greatest strength. The first quarter was very bad, which is understandable. We have to look at it and improve. We had good times and bad times. As an overall picture I am very pleased. We have a lot of work, we don’t have a lot of time, but we will be ready when we need to be.

We have to build habits. One habit we want to build is winning. You can’t always win by big margins. Slukas is a very long absence for the National Team. He really wanted to be here, but the injury didn’t allow it. The rest of the children must fill his void and fight for our country”.
