Medilibar: “In Greece I feel at home, I don’t feel like I’m abroad”

by

The coach of Olympiakos gave an interview to the Spanish media “Eitb media”, Jose Luis Mendilibertalking about how easily he adapted to our country, adding that he feels at home and making it clear that the goal of the “red and whites” ahead of the new season is to return to the top of the Stoiximan Super League!

In detail what the coach of Olympiakos said:

About his experience in Greece so far: “I like the experience in Greece, a new league, a new culture and of course winning the team’s first European title. At first I was scared, as it was my first time leaving Spain and I didn’t know what I would find. But everything went very well. From the beginning, the results helped us and people understood what we were asking for. We are also very lucky with the language, since there are many who speak Spanish. More than 3/4 of the football players speak Spanish, so this fact helped us a lot”.

On the importance of language in the locker room: “Language is important because in the end they have to understand each other when we speak, but gestures are also important. There are times when making a gesture or a face, you will be understood better than speaking. So this is my feeling and I think that I have found smart people in Olympiakos”.

For the differences between Greece and Spain: “It doesn’t seem like I’ve been abroad or somewhere else. In other words, the style is like being at home, in that sense”.

For the goals for the new season: “The goal of a team like Olympiacos is to win the championship. This year we are starting from scratch. For a few days now we have renewed with footballers that we want to continue with us”.
