It ended in the most dreamlike way for her Hellas her presence in European Aquatics Championship held in Belgrade, Serbia!
Our country’s team, on the seventh and last day of the event, broke all the “counters”, winning five medals!
Specifically, the Kristian Golomeev and Stergios Bilas made it 1-2 in the 50 meter freestyle, while a little later, the Apostolos Christou and Vangelis Makrygiannis they emulated them by taking the gold and silver medals respectively in the 100m backstroke!
The amazing day came to close with another medal, with Dimitris Markos becoming “silver” in the 400 meters freestyle!
Somehow, our National Team completed its presence in this year’s Pan-European Championship, winning 17 medalsousa to second place of all countries in the medal tablebehind only Hungary!
Specifically, the 5 of them were gold, 8 were silver, while the remaining 4 were bronze!
A sensational tournament was held by Apostolos Christou with 3 medals (2 golds in the 50m and 100m backstroke and a bronze in the 4X100 freestyle), as of course Stergios Bilas (1 gold in the 50m butterfly, 1 silver in the 50m freestyle, 1 bronze in the 4X100 freestyle), the Dimitris Markos (2 silver medals in the 400m and 800m freestyle and 1 bronze in the 4X200 freestyle).
Two medals were won by Christian Golomeev (1 gold in 50m freestyle, 1 bronze in 4X100 freestyle), Vangelis Makrygiannis (1 silver in the 100m backstroke, 1 bronze in the 50m backstroke), Andreas Vazeos (2 bronzes in the 4X100 and 4X200 free), but also the Theodora Drakou (2 silver medals in 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke)!
