The serial Bruno Campoclo in They were partisans it holds well… A day after his agent made complaints for arrears of wages and breaches of contract terms stressing that his client will leave, the Belgrade team announced that they are punishing the Brazilian center with a deduction of five wages but will keep him in their ranks for the new season.
Partizan reports that there have never been delays in the payment of accruals to the 29-year-old ace, while stressing that he left Belgrade unjustifiably for alleged tests with his national team, as such a thing is not foreseen by FIBA.
“Partizan, after completing the disciplinary process, decided on June 14 to impose a fine on the basketball player Bruno Campoclo with a sum of money equal to the amount of his five monthly salaries“, says the announcement of the Serbian team.
“The punishment was imposed due to non-fulfillment of contractual obligations, non-attendance of training sessions and matches, i.e. arbitrary departure from the team“, the Serbs add, to continue: “In this way, Partizan points out that at the time of committing the disciplinary offences, it had no debts to the player and that the Club has the right to keep Kampoklos for the next season and will use it.
The information released to the public about the player’s obligations to the Brazilian national team has no basis, not even according to FIBA rules. According to FIBA’s internal rules, Book 3, Article 38a, the preparation time for the Olympic qualifying tournament and other official qualifying matches is 14 days before the first match. Therefore, the Club has no obligation to release the player prematurely. Brazil coach Aleksandar Petrovic said that Campoclo and dos Santos are only required to appear at Brazil’s training center after completing their obligations in the national league of Serbia.
On May 29, Bruno’s agent sent an invitation signed by Carlos Fontanella via Whats App message for a supposed medical examination on May 31. According to FIBA rules, the Club is not obliged to release the Player before the end of the club’s duties in the league. We remind you that the possible third game of the final series was scheduled for June 8. According to FIBA’s internal rules, Book 3, Article 37, the invitation can only be sent from the official registered email address of the national federations, which has never happened.
The club officially approached the Brazilian Basketball Federation on June 5 and requested the results of the alleged medical tests, as well as clarification, if the invitation received from the agent was ever officially sent by the federation and if it was official at all. The answer never came. According to the club’s update, Campoclo landed in Brazil from America only on June 16, which only confirms that it is an arbitrary decision of the player to leave his workplace for some other reasons and go to another continent. For all this, Partizan informed the competent bodies at FIBA and asked for the protection of its rights”.
