The great Sofia Kongoulis will be a football player of AEK starting next season. The Amateur Union announced the acquisition of the 33-year-old international striker with a long career in Greece and abroad and approximately 50 appearances with the representative group.
Kongoulis was the top scorer in seven seasons in the A’ National team with 183 goals.

“AEK is very pleased to announce the start of its collaboration with Sofia Kongoulis! The 33-year-old (21/07/1991) international striker, signed her contract and joins the club’s women’s football team.
Sofia Kogoulis is one of the top strikers ever to grace Greek women’s football. She started her professional career from Elpides Karditsa, where she played from 2009 to 2016. She created an unbreakable record, as she was the top scorer in the A National Division in all seven seasons, scoring a total of 183 goals! Her achievements attracted the interest of major European clubs and in the summer of 2016 she was transferred to the Italian side Verona.
For two seasons he wore the shirt of Verona, scoring 7 goals in 28 appearances, followed by Fiorentina (2018-19, 10 appearances-1 goal) and Tavaniaco (2019-20, 9 appearances-2 goals).
In 2020 he moved to Hungarian side Diogskori, making 7 appearances and scoring 1 goal, before returning to Tavaniako and Serie A, scoring 11 goals in 37 appearances. In 2022 she will wear the shirt of Tsitandela and have one of her most productive years with 15 goals in 29 games. Thus, last season, historic Parma made it theirs, with Kongoulis scoring 5 goals in 13 games.
