by

And…now the two of them!

The quarter-finals of Euro 2024 will face each other on Friday afternoon (5/7, 19:00) in Stuttgart Spain and Germanythe two by far the best teams in the tournament so far!

After all, beyond this year’s appearanceshave and most conquests in the competition: Three each (in 1964, 2008 – in the final against Germany – and in 2012 “Furia Roja”, while in 1972, 1980 and 1996 Nationalmasoft).

It’s a reminder that the pair in question is in the… upper part of the board. From there, the winner will face in the semi-finals, on Tuesday (9/7, 22:00) in Munich, his counterpart Portugal-France (5/7, 22:00).

The match will be televised by ERT1 and radio by News Bulletin 247while there will be live updates from sport-fm.gr.

On the one hand, then, Spain, a team full of talent and youth. Having already won the… eyes from the group stage – Ousa was the only one with 3/3 wins (5-0 on goals) – she continued her impressive performances in the “16” stage. Where it broke up 4-1 the Agriculture, while he could have scored as many goals. And all this while “Furia Roja” found itself back on the scoreboard due to Le Norman’s own goal (18′). However, she equalized before the break with Rodri (39′), to turn it around and to give dimensions of triumph to her qualification with Ruith (51′) and Nico Williams (75′).

On the other hand, the organizer: Also with enough quality but also with units that have more experience than their current opponents. Having finished first in their group – securing top spot thanks to Philkrig’s 92nd minute equalizer against the excellent Switzerland – in the last 16 they fell to Denmark. Julian Nagelsmann’s total was superior, he prevailed 2-0 thanks to Havertz’s penalty kick in the 53rd minute and Musiala’s goal and left for the semi-finals. The latter, however, reached the three goals, rising to first place in the list of scorers, having “in the company” of Hakpe, Mikoutatze and Schranz.

In the racing part now, there are no problems for the two technicians, only dilemmas. Luis de la Fuente, in relation to the match against the Georgians, is thinking of starting the Olmo instead of Pedri (with the former helping more than the latter when he replaced him in the game). On the other hand, Julian Nagelsmann is considering whether to keep him Schloteberg instead of The which he reviewed (the first one did exceptionally well) and whether he will bring him back Wirtz instead of Sanewho did not impress.

Possible compositions:

Spain (Luis de la Fuente): Unai Simeone – Carvajal, Le Norman, Laporte, Koukoreja – Rodri, Olmo, Fabian Ruith – Yamal, Morata, N. Williams.

Germany (Julian Nagelsmann): Neuer – Kimmich, Riedinger, Sloterbeck, Mittelstadt – Andrich, Kroos – Musiala, Guidogan, Wirtz – Havertz.

In the event of a tie in regular time, a half-hour overtime will follow and if necessary, the penalty shoot-out.

Balanced the history between the two teams, with Germany having nine wins, against Spain’s eight (32-31 in favor of the non-organizers’ goals), while nine matches ended in draws. Of course, the recent successes belong to “Furia Roja”which defeated Nazionale in the Euro final (1-0 in 2008), in the World Cup semi-final (1-0 in 2010), while it also gifted it with a “6” (6-0) in the Nations League in 2020.

The referee of the match will be Anthony Taylorwhile VAR his compatriot, Stuart Atwell.
