The National team had a… relaxed night, defeating Egypt 93-71 in the packed SEF and formally securing first place in the second group of the Pre-Olympic Tournament.
THE Vasilis Toliopoulos spoke after the match about the appearance of the “blue and white” but also about the upcoming semi-final against Slovenia of Luka Doncic (07/06, 17:30), commenting that the good national team has nothing to fear.
In detail what he said:
“We had a pretty good second half. In the first half we entered well, but then we conceded easy baskets. It’s all a good lesson for the future. We are all looking at each game individually and now our minds are on Saturday’s match against Slovenia. It is a very difficult game, this is a very successful team in recent years, they have one of the best players in the world. We will prepare our plan, try to limit Doncic and hopefully go to the final.
We respect all Slovenians, they know their roles well and help Doncic. We believe that we have built a very good chemistry, we are close, we play good defense and if we show our good face we have nothing to fear. For me it is a great experience, I enjoy it and I want to help the team. We all have a very good relationship and have bonded very well. I wish we go to the Olympics.”
