Even 2-2 with the Ghent AEK came to their last friendly in the main stage of their preparation.
In the… marathon “test” (duration 130′) held in Burg-Hamstad, the “Union” had a very good presence in the first two parts of 35 minutes.
After opening the scoring just at 51” by Zinithe “yellow and black” produced very good results on grass, such as the excellent one pressing high and good traffic from the waist and front. They had several opportunitieswhile at the same time they were little threatened. The latter, however, happened mainly from their own mistakesbasically in phase build up. So, after a mistake by Brignoli in the build up, they conceded the equalizer at 18′.
At the same time, the “two-headed” also had protagonists, with the top of them all Leviwho had two assists but also beam with a foul at 60′. 2-1, therefore, he wrote to 54′ The Rota. Very good too Ljubisicwho playing behind Levi contributed the most to the pressing and circulation in the good spaces of his team, but also Pelionincluding.
A few things in the next two parts, lasting 30 minutes, where a mixture of young and experienced players played for AEK, while Vida, Simanski and Gacinovic (after their inclusion in the preparation of the “Union”) counted their first minutes.
In any case, in these last two halves, AEK did not show a good image. The 2-2 formed in 92′in a phase in which Brignoli initially appeared to have made a new mistake, however from the replay it was established that he had foul forcing him to remain neutralized.
Now, the “yellow and black” are returning to Greece, the Thursday (11/7)where of course several will be integrated possible transfers that have been announced or closed. AEK will continue its preparation in Spata ahead of its first match in the second qualifying round Conference League (on Wednesday July 24 against the winner of the Velez Mostar-Inter Club D’Escaldes match). The next Thursday (18/7)she will give her last friendly (dress rehearsal), against Concord at GSP Nicosia.
In… the coach’s mind:
THE Matias Almeida in the first two 35 minutes he lined her up AEK with system 4-4-1-1 and Brignoli under the rafters. At the right end of the defense was the Rotaon the left o Pelionwhile the Mitoglou and Hadjisafi made up the central duo. In the middle line, from right to left, were the Eliasson, Johnson, Galanopoulos and Ziniby Ljubisic to move a little further behind him Levi.
In the third part, lasting 30 minutes, only the Brignoli. From there on, the defense from right to left was made up of Rants, Vida, Chrysopoulos, Kanellopoulos. Right in the middle line o Amrabadleft o Gacinovicwith Shimansky and Roukunaki twin in the center. In front of Fernandes was moving behind him Theodoridis.
With the beginning of the fourth part, there was a change with him Thank God to pass instead of Brignoli.
It is recalled that Mandalos and Mukudi were out with minor problems, Tsiloulis who has suffered a sprain, as well as Cullens who was included in the preparation of the “biceps” only on Tuesday (9/7).
The match:
AEK entered the game with a goal from the locker room, with “Enos” finding the net only in the 51”! Very nice release from the “yellow and black”, with Levi to find him Zini on the weak side in the box, with the Angolan ace scoring with a nice one-piece volley.
More generally, AEK pressed again very nicely and at a high level, while at times they circulated the ball exceptionally well. From there, he still had two good moments, in the 9th minute with Pelios and in the 14th minute with a shot by Jonsson, who was treading a lot of territory. Both from actions of Levi.
However, in 18′ -essentially against the flow- Ghent brought the match to a tie. THE Brignoli misplaced a pass in the build up, with Hong making a steal outside the area, only to dig straight over the Italian keeper.
AEK started the second half without any changes.
The pace is now slower, with the “yellow and black” continuing to press high, while as the minutes passed they were once again superior.
In the 39th minute, the “Union” threatened with Eliasson’s cross, which the newly promoted Jonsson failed to make the projection. Ghent responded in the closing stages, as after a mistake by Mitoglou, the Belgians won the ball, with Tisundali missing with a shot from the height of the large area.
To get to 54′ when AEK found the net again. Rota made a very nice move, stepped into the area and when he received the ball from Levivery coolly executed into the bottom corner.
AEK continued to threaten the 60′ he had beam in a huge double chance: Very nice direct free-kick from Levi, with Roof finding the ball, which hit the crossbar. In the restart, Ljubisic was unable to score from close range. In the 62nd minute, the Croat had a shot after Eliasson’s cross, with the opposing goalkeeper blocking it, while a little later Fatiga’s shot went too high.
In the third part, Matias Almeida, as expected, changed almost the entire lineup, with Alberto Brignoli being the only one to continue.
Few things in the first part of the third part, with AEK reaching the first phase, in the 84th minute with the shot that Fernandes caught outside the area.
However, slowly only Ghent started to threaten, who had two moments, before writing 2-2 in the 92′. O Coyote saw him Brignoli a little in front of the goal, taking the ball over him with a placekick. As it appeared from the replay, the Italian goalkeeper was neutralized, as he had been hit by an opponent (the referee did not blow his whistle).
The last phase for the third part belonged to AEK, in the 100′, it was lasting and ended with a long shot by Simanski.
A few things in the fourth part as well. The “yellow and black” were trying to circulate, but they made several mistakes. In the 122nd minute, Kanellopoulos’ goal was stopped, in what was essentially the last phase of the match.
