The unlikely 21-year-old Spaniard may have found himself behind in the sets, losing the first 7-6, but he then found a rhythm and imposed his dominance, winning the next three and celebrating victory with 3-1 (7-6, 3-6, 4-6, 4-6).

So Alkarath goes to defend his title in her final Sunday (14/7)where he will find opposite him the winner of the pair Musetti-Djokovic (12/7, 19:05), claiming the fourth Grand Slam title in his career!
It was Medvedev who entered the semi-final stronger, breaking first to go 3-1 up, with Alkarath responding with the same coin and the Russian breaking his opponent’s serve for the second time in a row, moving ahead with 4-2. The Spaniard fought back again, leveling at 5-5 and 6-6, with the set going to a tie-break, where Menrvedev prevailed with a commanding 7-1, making it 1-0!
Alkarath then dominated, going 4-1 early in the second set, which he eventually won 6-3, and continued to find solutions in the third set, going 2-1 to put… bow for victory. In the fourth and final set Medvedev fought with all his might, but eventually saw his opponent reach 6-4 and take the coveted qualification.
