Mozzart: “Red Star are close to Petrusev after Vezenkov’s return to Olympiakos”

by

In Serbia, they consider his return a matter of time Philip Petrushev to Red Star after imminent return of Sasha Vezenkov to Olympiakos.

The Bulgarian forward was released yesterday by the Raptors and after the 48 hours that he must be on the waivers list (and with virtually zero chances of being picked up by another NBA team, since he has decided to return to Europe and shows it with either way), the Piraeus will activate their agreement for 4+1 years at around 3.5 million euros per year.

Although Petrusev has a contract with Olympiakos, it is clear that he does not fit into Barzokas’ system“, reports the Serbian Mozzart Sport and adds: “Vezenkov will undoubtedly be the starting 4 and Petrusev will be a substitute. Red Star have been keen to sign him for months. Team president Nebojsa Covic already met with him at the start of Serbia’s preparations for the Olympics, but they had to wait for Vezenkov’s case to clear before Petrusev knew what to do. Everything shows that Petrusev will close the circle of transfers of Red Star. However, once Vezenkov is announced by Olympiakos, the two sister teams will have to agree on the compensation, as Petrusev has a contract».

Yesterday, the agent of the tall Serbian, Misko Raznatovic, denied the scenarios of an agreement for Petrusev, however he added that “… there are no discussions and they will not take place until Olympiacos acquires a player in position ‘4’”. Now, with the return of Vezenkov just around the corner, the way for Petrusev to return to the Belgrade team, where Yannis Sfairopoulos wants him very much, has been opened. It is enough to find the golden ratio between the two groups and the formula for the deal. It is not unlikely that the possibility of a loan will also be discussed, as Petrusev at 24 is a player with great prospects and Olympiacos would not want to lose him permanently.
