Anna-Maria Spanou returns to Greece on behalf of the Amazons. Newcomers to the Women’s Volley League have announced the signing of the 29-year-old international winger for next year following her five-year stint in France and Germany and a Wilsbeeburg jersey last season.

“AONNE AMAZONES is pleased to announce the start of its partnership with international forward Anna-Maria Spanou, making a great transfer move ahead of the Volley League Championship.
The addition of the Halkidean athlete with many years of experience and high-level performances in the European taraflex, is expected to give a significant boost to the attack of the New Eritrea team, while with her dynamics she will contribute inextricably to the club’s effort for a good course in the top division of the championship.
Born in 1995, with a height of 1.88m, she started her sports career from AGEX (later OPEX) and in 2011 she transferred to ZAON, where she played until 2014. Then, she played for Iraklis of Kifissia (2014-15), AEK (2015-16) and Ilioupoli (2016-17).
Since 2017 he has been playing almost continuously abroad (with the exception of part of the 2018-19 season, when he returned to Heliopolis), in teams such as Bangkok Glass (2017-18), CVB Barca (2017-18), Quimper Volley 29 (2018-2020), GEN-I Volley (2020-2020), Beziers Volley (2020-21), Terville-Florange OC (2021-22), Levallois Sporting Club (2022-23) and Rote Raben Vilsbiburg (2023-2024).
