Dellas: “There are pieces missing but I’m sure the president will do what he has to do”

Traianos Dellas took stock of the team’s preparation in the Netherlands in his statements.

The coach of OFI pointed out that there are still some gaps in the Cretan roster, however he expressed his confidence that the management will do what is necessary and they will be filled so that the team will be able to claim its goals in the new competitive season.

His statements in detail:

“The preparation went very well, at least as far as the Netherlands is concerned. The children gave their best, but the preparation is not over yet, as up to a week before the game is considered preparation. We are trying to find our identity as a team and what we want to do on the pitch. A lot of things that we have worked on in the pre-season friendlies are slowly coming out and this is what we will aim for in the rest of the friendlies in order to be ready and be competitive from the start. I’ve said it before that there are pieces missing, but I’m sure the president will do whatever it takes to fill in those pieces. I am very pleased with the effort of my footballers. I have told them that all this effort and energy that they have put out, they should “pass” it into the games because, for better or worse, these are what give us the results, in order to achieve our goals”.



Regarding the academies:

“Because I know the president very well, I knew from the beginning that in addition to a good team, he also wanted to build the academies and I think he is on the right track. We should be prepared for how we will manage these children. We must first help them by being a good team, so that they enter the process more smoothly. You saw that many kids became professionals, but not all these footballers can be in the same team.

The work that is done that is not seen in the world is very great and there are things that are planned in this way so that these unseen things will have a great effect on the group and how they will be able to get their own children out of the ” her guts” that make up the first group.
