“Excellent” from the World Federation for the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024!

The World Cycling Federation (UCI) emphatically certified the continuous organizational improvement of the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece, as this year it graded with “excellent” all areas of its very demanding organization!

Three years after its revival, the Tour has not had a single remark from the UCI commissioner in charge, confirming the systematic work done by all members of the Organizing Committee, Cycling Greece.

This year’s 757.02 km, with the 5 racing routes, in 22 Municipalities and 4 Regions and the 120 cyclists, internationally renowned athletes, who started from Thessaloniki, continued to Katerini and Karditsa, climbed to Velouhi and passing through Sperchiada and Chalkida finished the race with the Acropolis and the Panathenaic Stadium in the background, they gave fantastic images to 174 countries around the world, leaving great promises for the 2025 Round!

The World Federation, along with the credit, recorded among the very positive aspects of the event, both the immediacy of information provided by the Race Director, Vladimiros Petsa, on any issues that arose, as well as the high level of safety rules in all Stages.

In favor of the race, in addition, the UCI notes the excellent atmosphere between the executives who worked for the Tour and the resulting excellent communication between them.

At the same time, the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 won another first, which concerns the impact it had in the Greek Mass Media.

Specifically – and after two very successful events and communications – the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 recorded an increase in media reports (national and regional) regarding the corresponding reports in 2022 and 2023:

• +10% Print media (with hundreds of publications and tributes)

• +13% Digital Media (almost 2,000 publications with 40% of them local in scope)

• +5% TV (dozens of reports on the channels)

• +50% Radio (hundreds of reports and interviews)

This is one of the most important achievements of the organization, as cycling is not one of the popular sports in Greece, while it was completely unknown to the general sports fans what a competitive International Cycling Tour means before its revival in 2022.

With the contribution of the Ministry of Sports and the Deputy Minister Yiannis Vroutsis, who practically supports the Game, the media, sports and political, have embraced the event and promote its actions at every opportunity

From the Organizing Committee, a big “thank you” to all the media for their warm response to the unprecedented organization of the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece.

Next September, the dates of the 2025 Competition will be announced, while there will be a large debriefing Press Conference where detailed information about the organization will be made public, including the impact on Social Media.
