Coach Malmo: “2-2 is not a bad result to take with us in the second leg”

by

Although he would like to have a better result o Henrik Rinchrem he emphasized that yesterday’s 2-2 draw against PAOK is also acceptable in order to take it in the rematch in Toumba.

“In many ways I am satisfied with our performance. If the away goals rule was in place it would have been a difficult result tonight (ie yesterday) but not now. The game builds a belief among my players that the way we play works against the champions of Greece. I’m satisfied with a lot of things in our appearance.” said the Malmö coach after the end of the match against the Northern Doubleheader and added:

“It’s a game of four halves, we’ve played two of them and in the end it was about finding the balance of going on the attack without opening up at the back. We had a period when we were not at the level we wanted. Now we’ve found a balance between when to go high and when not.”

Finally, commenting on the result in general, he said:

“Our image and the feeling we have is that we probably should have won, considering how the game went. We can say we didn’t have the quality when we were given the chances, let’s hope we have it in the second game. It would have been even more difficult if we hadn’t created those opportunities. I can’t say I’m happy with 2-2, but it’s not a bad result to take with us. We didn’t have to chase the 3-2, we’re alive.”
