Matt Lewis became a Karditsa player on Tuesday. Thessalian KAE announced the acquisition of the 26-year-old American guard-forward for last season.
Lewis last season competed in Le Mans, having experience from the NBA’s G-League.

“AS Karditsas JAPONIKI announces the addition of Matt Lewis to the roster of the men’s team.
This is an athlete with an excellent resume, who comes to give athleticism, scoring and personality to the perimeter line of the team. The 26-year-old American athlete (born December 21, 1998 in Woodbridge, Virginia), is 1.95 m tall and plays as a shooting guard and small forward.
Lewis started playing basketball at Arlington High School in Virginia and in 2017 joined James Madison’s college program. He had an excellent run in the NCAA and in four years became the second scorer in the history of the College in the first division with 1,928 points in 113 games.
In his college career, he had 17.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3 assists, while in his last season (2020-21) when he completed his presence in the NCAA, he counted 19.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 32.8 minutes of participation.
He then joined the G League as a professional, in which he played in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. In 63 games (60 as a starter) and 30.9 minutes of participation with the Iowa Wolves, he had 12 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists per game, with 39% shooting from three points.
Last season 2023-24, he made his first trip to Europe, signing for French Le Mans. In 39 games in all competitions and in 20.4 minutes of participation, he had 8.3 points and 2.3 rebounds, while his appearances in the BCL made a sensation, an event in which he and his team faced Peristeri and Prometheus, with Le Mans reaching up to the play-ins of the tournament, where he had 12.6 points with 2.8 rebounds and 43% on three-pointers in 25.4 minutes of participation.
