Aleksandar Atanasievich is considered as one of the leading diagonal players, with a great career and a “heavy” resume, full of individual distinctions and trophies, both at the collective level and for National teams.

Last season (2023-24), he won the Chinese league with Shanghai Bright and emerged as a top crosser, while from 2013 to 2021, he had a great career at Perugia, in the top Italian league. With the Italian team, he won six titles, while reaching the final of the CEV Champions League, in the 2016-17 season. The Serbian winger started with Partizan (2007-11), with whom he won the championship in 2011. He then played for Skra (2011-13), while after Perugia, he returned to the Polish club for another two years ( 2021-23). With Skra, he competed in the final of the CEV Champions League in 2012, while also celebrating two trophies.

Under his belt, he holds… countless individual awards, as he has emerged as, among others, the top scorer and top crosser in European and world championships, but also in Italy, Serbia, China and the CEV Champions League!

With the Serbian National Team, Aleksandar Atanasievic was present at the recent Olympic Games in Paris, while in this year’s VNL, he had a 51.3% attack efficiency. As for his medals with Serbia, he has won two golds at the European Championships (two bronze) and one gold at the World Championships in 2016 (one silver, one bronze).

Alexander Atanasievich’s statement: “I feel amazing! I finally rested, after a long season, at club and national level, so I am very happy to start training again and even more happy, to come to such a big club, Olympiakos, the biggest in Greece, one of the best in Europe in all sports! My personal goals are completely related to the goals of the club. I want and will give my best in every match to help Olympiacos win new trophies in volleyball. It is a club with many trophies. As I am Serbian, I understand and know the history and mentality of the club and that is the main reason why I came to Olympiakos! I can’t wait to play in front of the Olympiakos crowd and feel this club spirit.”
