On Tuesday, Ivana Vaniak became an Olympiakos volleyball player. The “red and white” Amateurs announced the acquisition of the 29-year-old German-Croatian winger for the next year, in order to be strengthened at the ends of the attack.
Vaniak has been teammates with Gina Lambrussi in France, while last season she competed in Indonesia.

“OLYMPIACOS SFP announces the start of its collaboration with Ivana Vaniak.
The German international, with roots from Croatia, winger (born 30/5/1995, 1.93m) signed her new contract and joins the roster of the club’s women’s volleyball team. Ivana Vaniak has played, among other things, for Allianz MTV Stuttgart with which she won the championship, the Cup and the German Super Cup, while in the two years 2020-22 she was in the top French league, wearing the jersey of ASPTT Mulhouse.
In France, he won the league and the Cup in the 2020-21 season, while in 2021-22 he won the Super Cup and was named MVP. He started with the national teams of Croatia, but then since 2019 he has been an international player with Germany.
Ivana Vaniak’s statement to olympiacossfp.gr: “I feel amazing! I am very excited to come to Greece for Olympiakos. Excited to meet my team and teammates and start the season. I know some players who played for Olympiakos, I have heard many good things about the club, its mentality, its fans and life in Greece.
Our captain, Gina Lambrussi, and I played a very successful season together in France and I am very happy that we will be teammates again. Olympiacos has a legendary name in Europe! I know the size of the club, which has many different sports. It’s a dream come true for me, to be a small part of the 100-year history of Olympiakos!
My main goal is to win the championship! I want to tell the world that it is a great honor to be here and I am grateful for the opportunity to wear this shirt. I want to make you proud and, for that, I will give my best.”
