The women’s national volleyball team is ready for North Macedonia. The last training session of the representative group at the Mikras indoor facility, in the presence of the president of EOPE, Giorgos Karapetsos, did not hide any unpleasant surprises for the federation coach, Apostolos Oikonomou, for the match of the third match of the sixth qualifying group of Eurovolley 2026.
Compared to Sunday’s match in Austria, the announced 14 will have two changes. In the place of Lambrini Konstantinidou, who suffered a sprain in last Sunday’s match in Vienna, will be Evangelia Tanis and in that of Marialena Artakianou, Marianna Belia.
The 14 in detail:
Passers: Eleni Karakassi, Evangelia Tanis
Extremes: Asimina Nikologianni, Olga Strandzali, Fai Bakodimou, Elena Baka
Central: Irini Hatziefstratiadou, Aristea Totai, Kyriaki Terzoglou, Markella Papageorgiou
Diagonal: Martha Anthoulis, Maria Tsitsigianni
Libero: Georgina Antonakaki, Marianna Belia
The federal coach spoke about this specific match. “We have forgotten the victory in Austria and our mind is on North Macedonia, which we must treat with the same seriousness. We know that if we play the way we should, we will win and do the “2×2″ which has been our main goal since the beginning of the summer.”
And he added: “We need to show seriousness and the right mentality as a team. These are things that we have focused on in these six weeks that we have been working with the girls. Such details have cost us in the past, but, little by little, they should become a “weapon” for us.
