Flights were canceled early this morning at Kazan airport in the Russian republic of Tatarstan for security reasons, Russian state news agencies reported, citing the Russian civil aviation agency Rosaviatsia.

“To ensure the safety of civilian aircraft … no flights land or take off at the airport from 7am. Moscow time (and Greek time),” announced Rosaviatsia, according to TASS.

In addition, Ukrainian drones set fire to oil tanks at a fuel storage facility in Russia’s Rostov region, Russian Telegram channels reported today.

Russian anti-aircraft defense units destroyed four drones over the Rostov region overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry and Rostov Governor Vasily Golubov announced via Telegram, without however mentioning an attack on a fuel storage facility.

Telegram’s Baza channel, believed to be linked to Russian security services, reported that three tanks were burning at a fuel depot in the Kamensky district of Rostov Oblast after two drones crashed in the area.

Videos posted on Russian social media showed large tanks burning in the middle of the night. Reuters notes that it was able to identify the location of one of the videos as the Kamensky District of Rostov Oblast.

So far there has been no comment from Ukraine.
