AEK men’s volleyball will restart from the second national team

by

The restart of the men’s volleyball team of AEK will begin from the second national team, after the Amateur Union, in a statement issued on Tuesday, informed of its intentions to return to the big “living rooms” and based in “Apostolos Kontos”.

In detail, the announcement:

“The Athletic Union of Constantinople has been honoring volleyball since 1929, while there are reports of matches it participated in as late as 1924. It is one of the great Greek powers in yet another sport, with a third place in the CEV Cup and several participations in the Europeans” salons’. The yellow and black jersey was worn by athletes who also glorified the country with the National teams. Furthermore, AEK has dozens of titles at the Academies level both at the pan-Hellenic level and at the ESPAAA.

All this is mentioned so that everyone can understand what men’s volleyball means to the management of AEK, which during its days, after all, also won its only title.

The administration of AEK, with a sense of responsibility towards its sports fans, but also the whole of Greece, announces that it is starting its course for the regeneration of the men’s volleyball section. Many may have tried to ‘wipe’ it off the map, but they didn’t succeed. The men’s volleyball section of AEK will start its journey from the B’ National Division championship with a specific plan and vision, so that in a few years it will be the star. As it happened in men’s handball, women’s handball, women’s volleyball, women’s football and so many other divisions that now bring titles and honors to the club’s trophy case.

The administration of AEK has already taken all the necessary actions both to submit an application for participation by 06/09, and to man its roster with transfers until 08/09, as well as with children from its Academy.

The seat of the division will be the ‘Apostolos Kontos’ stadium in New Philadelphia, with the matches being held every Thursday.

We invite the world of the team to embrace this effort aimed at returning AEK men’s volleyball to the ‘elite’.

The new era of AEK in men’s volleyball begins.”
