Omer Yurtseven was born on June 19, 1998 in the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Turkish parents, he is 2.11m tall and plays at position 5.
At the age of 16, he was selected in the best five of the pan-European U16 championship, while he was part of the Fenerbahce Beko team. With the Turkish team he made his Euroleague debut on March 20, 2015 in a match against Emporio Armani Milano. The 2015-2016 season had eight participations in the Euroleague, until February 2016, when he left Fenerbahce in order to “move” to the USA and compete in the college league.
From 2016 to 2018 he played for North Carolina State University, while finishing his NCAA stint with Georgetown (2019–2020). In his second year in the college league he averaged 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds. His best year, numbers-wise, was his last (2019-2020) where he averaged 15.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
In 2020, he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder and played with their G League affiliate. On May 14, 2021, he was traded to the Miami Heat and finished the 2021-2022 season averaging 5.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 56 games. Yurtseven remained with the Heat the following year, while the 2023-2024 season found him with the Utah Jazz, with whom he had 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 48 games.
In three seasons in the NBA, the Turkish center averaged 5 points and 4.6 rebounds per 11.8 minutes in 113 appearances.
Yurtseven was a member of the small National Teams from a young age. He competed in the 2013 FIBA ​​Europe U16 Championship and the 2014 FIBA ​​Europe U16 Championship.
